Optimal Siting of Distributed Generators in a Distribution Network using Artificial Immune System

    Get PDF
Distributed generation (DG) sources are being installed in distribution networks worldwide due to their numerous advantages over the conventional sources which include operational and economical benefits. Random placement of DG sources in a distribution network will result in adverse effects such as increased power loss, loss of voltage stability and reliability, increase in operational costs, power quality issues etc. This paper presents a methodology to obtain the optimal location for the placement of multiple DG sources in a distribution network from a technical perspective. Optimal location is obtained by evaluating a global multi-objective technical index (MOTI) using a weighted sum method. Clonal selection based artificial immune system (AIS) is used along with optimal power flow (OPF) technique to obtain the solution. The proposed method is executed on a standard IEEE-33 bus radial distribution system. The results justify the choice of AIS and the use of MOTI in optimal siting of DG sources which improves the distribution system efficiency to a great extent in terms of reduced real and reactive power losses, improved voltage profile and voltage stability. Solutions obtained using AIS are compared with Genetic algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) solutions for the same objective function

Objectives: The present study aimed to determine the level of mental health adopted by 1st year B.Sc. nursing students. Methods: A total of 50 1st year B.Sc., nursing students were selected using non-probability convenient sampling technique. The tools used for data collection were William C. Menninger mental health assessment scale, and socio-demographic pro forma. Results: The studies revealed that 40 (80%) students have moderate mental health, 10 (20%) students have good mental health, and none of them have poor mental health. There is a significant association between the level of mental health among nursing students and with their demographic variable sex. Conclusion: The nurse administrator should plan and organize an educational program for nursing students, to prepare them to cope up with any stressful situations. Hence, the researcher emphasizes the need for more research to improve the level of mental health and by applying the research finding for future

Hybrid Boruvka - Johnson's Algorithm for Shortest Path Identification in Reconfigurable Microgrids

    Get PDF
The concept of microgrid is implemented on a large scale in the present distribution system. Reconfiguration in microgrid predominantly occurs due to connection and disconnection of the distributed generators (DG) and loads. Due to frequent topology changes, conventional protection schemes may not be applicable in microgrid for efficient fault clearance. This paper proposes a Hybrid Borůvkas - Johnsons’s algorithm which detects the shortest path between the fault and the point of common coupling. This ensures that minimum portion of network disconnection occurs during fault clearance. This algorithm is tested and validated on 30-bus standard microgrid network

In Mobile networks the user’s location, passwords might be used as authentication factor to provide security services for remote client authentication. In addition there are many typical authentication factors. In Location based Remote client Authentication Protocol for mobile environment (LRAP), combines several authentication factors to securely authenticate a mobile user. In LRAP, the user’s location can be determined by a third party used by user’s mobile for secure payment operations. This paper is to investigate a systematic approach to generate an encrypted data to real user mobile number along with decrypting key as SMS only when the location of credit card matches with the location of user’s mobile in order to avoid unauthorized access of credit card

Rural regions rely heavily on agriculture for their economic survival. Therefore, it is crucial for farmers to implement effective and technical solutions to raise production, lessen the impact of issues associated to animal husbandry, and improve agricultural yields. Because of technological developments in computers and data storage, huge volumes of information are now available. The difficulty of extracting useful information from this mountain of data has prompted the development of novel approaches and tools, such as data mining, that can help close the informational gap. To evaluate data mining methods and put them to use in the Animal database to create meaningful connections was the goal of the suggested system. The study's primary objective was to develop an IoT-based Integrated Animal Health Care System. Various sensors were used as the research tool to collect physical and environmental data on the animals and their habitats. Temperature, heart rate, and air quality readings were the types of information collected. This research contributes to the field of health monitoring by introducing an Optimised Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Neural Network approach. The BiGRNN is an improved form of the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) in which input is sent both forward and backward through a network and the resulting outputs are connected to the same output layer. Since the BiGRNN method employs a number of hyper-parameters, it is optimised by means of the Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA). The originality of the study is demonstrated by the development of an SSA technique for hyperparameter optimisation of the BiGRNN, with a focus on health forecasting. Hyperparameters like momentum, learning rate, and weight decay may all be adjusted with the SSA method. In conclusion, the results demonstrate that the suggested tactic is more effective than the current methods
